Meet Mike & Patti Sampson
Welcome to our music page. We hope to get a chance to perform for your next event. Here's a litte bit about us - yes we are married too!
Mike is a retired middle school science teacher from the Scottsdale School district. Mike learned the guitar at the ripe old age of 50, and worked hard and fast to master songs that he always loved growing up in Arizona, Nevada and California. He always wanted to perform for others (outside of entertaining his middle school students), and now in retirement he has the chance to explore all of his musical loves. Favorite musicians include George Straight, Zac Brown, and of course, Jimmy Buffet.
Patti owns her own digital marketing agency, is a real estate broker, and best-selling author who also has a long history singing. From an early age, Patti leaned into harmony while competing in singing contests. Today, she sings 4-part harmony with the Scottsdale Chorus, a world champion all-woman's barbershop group right here in Arizona. Although most of her musical training focused on singing harmony background vocals, she loves busting out the melodic line in favorite songs from her musical idols, such as Linda Rondstadt, John Denver, Karen Carpenter and Adele. She also has a huge love of anything R&B, having grown up in the Detroit Suburbs.
We are proud parents of 3 amazing boys and 4 gorgeous grandchildren that we drool over (but who doesn't drool over their grandbabes?) We are thrilled to combine our musical talents to give you a performance that your guests will appreciate and enjoy.

Will the Sampson Duo travel outside of Maricopa County?
Yes, our schedules allow us to be available for travel pretty much anywhere within the state of Arizona, and we'll even travel outside of Arizona for your special event. Travel and accommodation costs are usually factored into the booking fee.
How can I book Sampson Duo for an event?
That's easy! Just visit our booking/contact page and fill out the booking inquiry form. Or call us at 602-818-1667. We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred dates - especially during the busy holiday season. When we receive your inquiry, we will be sure to get back to you ASAP, or no later than 24-36 hours.
Do Sampson Duo offer any custom packages for events?
Absolutely! Sampson Duo prides itself on crafting custom entertainment packages that best suit our clients event theme, audience, and budget. Just contact us here using the Red Book Button, and we'll be happy to call you back to discuss your specific needs and preferences.
What equipment and space does Sampson Duo provide for performances?
We bring all necessary sound equipment including instruments, microphones, and amplification systems. Should there be specific technical requirements or larger venue needs, external equipment rental can be arranged at agreed-to expense. We do perform with a professionally mixed backing track and can easily adjust the sound levels specific for your needs/event. We can also perform without sound equipment for smaller venues or churches. The space we need for two of us and our equipment is minimal - figure about a 6x6 foot space at minimum.
What is the cost and deposit requirement for booking the Sampson Duo?
Ideally, we require a deposit to secure your booking date. However, we realize that some corporate requirements will pay within a short time after the event. We will send you invoices and agreements as requested. Our services are affordable and based on travel, setup/breakdown, and performance time. Contact us for fees/deposit requirements for your event. We'd be happy to talk with you.
